IF YOU WANT THE RAINBOW,YOU GOOTA PUT UP WITH THE RAIN.

Durng this season of the year we get reports of severe rain and floods in different parts of the world. After a severe heat wave the rain is welcomed by all.The farmers are happy, the beasts of the wilderness are happy even the common men are happy for the sudden change of weather. If the rains are heavy then there is a danger of flooding of low lying areas. So much rains are considered as calamity.Hence there is so much problems with rain,if we get the right amount of it then we are happy but if it’s excessive then we are scared of our sufferings. Human life is made up of joys and sniffles,it is not just a bed of roses but there are thorns to avoid to enjoy the lovely roses that means if we are scared of thorns then we will never ever be able to enjoy the beauty of a rose. Let’s read a lovely passage from the holy book and try to find what message it has to convey to us during this hard times of life. After he had fed the people, Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and precede him to the other side of the sea, while he dismissed the crowds.
After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When it was evening he was there alone.
Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it.
During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea.
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. “It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear.
At once (Jesus) spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.
But when he saw how (strong) the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
After they got into the boat, the wind died down.
Those who were in the boat paid him homage, saying, “Truly, you are the Son of God.”-MATHEW 14:22-33

From the reading we know how the disciples struggled for hours and they were at a fix ,didn’t know what they should do to get going then suddenly they noticed the Lord.Though they could not recognize him but he was there in the midst of their trouble. He said to them ,he assured them by saying, ‘it is I ;do not be afraid.”

My beloved friends ,we are all in trouble and at a fix as we can’t take the right decision,we hear news of people dying everyday, floods and heat waves and an Air India plane crash in Kerala,Beirut blast and so many other unforseen happenings are making life a real hell .Now the question is ;When will life be normal on this earth? The answer is,may be we are very close to a great message .A message of the second coming of the Messiah ,just the way he appeared to the disciples during the strong winds and waves in the sea when their boat tossed about the waves and had almost given up hope.

So don’t give up hope in God ,he has better plans for us .The disciples faced the strong winds and waves and only then the Lord appeared.Let us be brave and take up our little crosses and carry it towards Calvary and I am sure he is coming towards us with his huge Cross to relieve all us of our little crosses.

During this pandemic ,he is shouting aloud to everyone and saying “Take courage,it is I;do not be afraid.”

Thanks a lot for reading .

  1. Wonderful message, Francis. It is very comforting to remember that Jesus is on that boat with us. He is not sleeping, and He will calm the wind and waves. He hasn’t forgotten us nor forsaken us. Very comforting message. Thank you. Be well.
