Modernization or globalization whatsoever we call, it has certainly given us a life of luxury but there is a question;has it given us a worryfree life or stressfree life?The answer may vary from person to person but it does have ill effects on an individual’s life.There was a time when people worked only 8 to 5 and then they had no other options but to relax and rest or else move about visiting beautiful places, that too was a kind of relaxation.Later on with the arrival of televisions and other gadgets the total life style changed.

Since then we started avoiding our relatives,neighbours and friends to find more time to avail for our so called luxury.Nowadays we often hear people saying that 24 hours in a day is not sufficient.When we have more responsibilities we have more stress or worries.The reality is that so far no one has paid off debts by worrying,no one has succeeded in bringing end to wars simply by worrying.Yet we human beings are rational beings so we can’t stop worrying.It is a real blessing to a family where the members are always trying to do something to make things easier to compensate the overexpenditures.At the same time we must not forget the evil effects of our overworking and worrying.

There are so many reasons to worry,as responsible parents we have to worry of our children’s well being,their educations,their health,their companions,their attitudes and their growth.We ought to worry of our financial status,spouse’s health,the health of our elders,the evils of the society and so on, the list is unending. I have missed one vital point and that is the worry of YOUR OWN HEALTH,your beloved ones really need you please don’t make them orphans.It is a good sign that we think of our beloved ones and the bad sign is that we may stop breathing at any moment owing to our worries.Worrying of all such issues can be heavy for our health and then the persons whom we love dearly will unfortunately become helpless in our absence. Have we ever thought of that?There are so many evil effects of worrying.Practically speaking I am not a medical transcriptionist but I have studied it so I shall share all that I have found in webMD for the good of my beloved ones.

What happens with excessive worrying?

Worrying is feeling uneasy or being overly concerned about a situation or problem.With excessive worrying,your mind and body go into overdrive as you constantly focus on “what might happen.”

Many chronic worriers tell of feeling a sense of impending doom or unrealistic fears that only increase their worries.Ultra-sensitive to their environment and to the criticism of others,excessive worriers may see anything -and anyone -as a potential threat.

Chronic worrying can affect your daily life so much that it may interfere with your appetite, lifestyle habits,relationships sleep,and job performance.Many people who worry excessively are so anxiety -ridden that they seek relief in harmful lifestyle habits such as overeating,cigarette smoking,or using alcohol or drugs.

Can Excessive Worry Make Me Physically ill?

Chronic worry and emotional stress can trigger a host of health problems.The problem occurs when fight or flight is triggered daily by excessive worrying and anxiety.The fight or flight response causes the body’s sympathetic nervous system to release stress hormones such as cortisol.These hormones can boost blood sugar levels and triglycerides(blood fats) that can be used by the body for fuel.The hormones also cause physical reactions such as :

#Difficulty swallowing


#Dry mouth

#Fast heartbeat



#Inability to concentrate


#Muscle aches

#Muscle tension


#Nervous energy

#Rapid breathing

#Shortness of breath


#Trembling and twitching

When the excessive fuel in the blood isn’t used for physical activities,the chronic anxiety and outpouring of stress hormones can have serious physical consequences, including:

#Premature coronary artery disease

#Heart attack

If excessive worrying and high anxiety go untreated, they can lead to depression and even suicidal thoughts.
