I really love Happy Thanksgiving Day because I feel, a day like this one makes me feel humble.
There is immense joy in acknowledging the help and support of someone who has been enabling another person to be more confident.
Practically speaking we need a few more of this day so that we can encourage our well wishers to extend their support to more people in the society.
Thanksgiving is somewhat magical because it doesn’t make a person financially strong but it certainly makes a person happy and joyful.
5 “Happy are those who are humble; they will receive what God has promised! 6 “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully! 7 “Happy are those who are merciful to others; God will be merciful to them! 8 “Happy are the pure in heart; they will see God! 9 “Happy are those who work for peace; God will call them his children! 10 “Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires; the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them! 11 “Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven. This is how the prophets who lived before you were persecuted. 13 “You are like salt for the whole human race. But if salt loses its saltiness, there is no way to make it salty again. It has become worthless, so it is thrown out and people trample on it. 14 “You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. 15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead it is put on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house.-Mathew 5:5-15
I thank the makers of this day and I also believe that we have to be thankful every moment of our life so that no one is forced to feel that the Lord has made him/her insignificant or small.
When everyone will receive due respect and will be able to live with dignity will certainly thank everyone and also the mighty one and isn’t that our dream for today and tomorrow?
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I don’t know whether you will agree with me or not but despite the advancement of science and technology I realize or believe that human lives have become even more complicated.
With different instruments and tools of diagnosis some people are still helpless as they can’t understand their physical problems.
One thing is very clear to the educated as well as the illiterate that if we don’t know certain things or don’t realize what is troubling us then we must approach some experts otherwise situation will be out of control.
17 “If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.-Leviticus 5:17
As we read Chapter 5 verse 17 from the book of Leviticus,we understand what it means to commit sins unknowingly.
We cannot shrug our shoulder because we don’t know the statutes of the Lord.It is our first and foremost duty to know the rules of a happy life.
So we must read the Holy book everyday so that we don’t suffer the consequences of our ignorance.
Whenever a person joins a new concern or an institution he or she goes through the manual to stay away from mistakes. We all go through the manual whenever we buy a new sophisticated gadget so that we can operate it in a proper way.
Whether we touch a naked electric wire knowingly or unknowingly doesn’t make any difference because it does it’s work of electrocution in any case .
Sins which we had committed for our ignorance can have it’s effect for fourth generations.
6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”-Exodus 34:6-7
I am sharing it not because I am a pious person but because I have experienced a life of sin and my father died of illness and my only younger brother died at the age of 31.
We are striving hard to be successful but making decisions for a better tomorrow is not at all easy.
What stops us from taking the perfect decision in perfect time?
1.Fear of losing what we have today.
2.Lack of confidence.
3.The consequences of our mistakes in the past.
4.We know that our negative activities won’t take us to the top.
5.We are worried of what others will say?
Hello friends and benefactors,it’s our life so we have to make quick move to be proud of our present in the future.
What so ever state we are in at present let us remember that someone can really afford to help each one of us to be successful.
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. 7 The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
8 And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness;
it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.-Isaiah 35:3-8
Do you want to put everything in order for your future?
Spend some time to be friendly with the one who won’t tolerate to see your disastrous life and will certainly help you to take the move you are afraid to make, the move that will establish a firm foundation of your life.
The world is full of sufferings and so many are struggling to put it in order especially when a lot of people are fighting against each other to be happy in life .
The Satan is successful in his work of teaching people the wrong theory of being happy in life.
The Satan doesn’t want us to be happy yet he is always conspiring to put people in danger through a fake strategy of acquiring joy and peace on earth.
The question is ;who will help us to stay away from the Satan’s conspiracies?
It is better not to rely on someone like us to ignore evil ideas and thoughts, the best thing is to put this intention in our daily bucket list for our prayers.
I cannot assure you all of anything on this earth but I can assure you of the fact that prayers can certainly make things easy .
I testify it for all of you, just don’t compromise with anyone when it comes to your daily prayers.
Sit with your family members, switch off your cell phones and thank the Lord everyday at a fixed time, praise him and bless him because he deserves it and above all whenever we praise and bless the Lord the Satan becomes weak .
After a few days the Lord will eagerly wait at that particular time for the little conversation (Prayers).
Thereafter, when you will be fully acquainted with the master you remind him of your major problems during your daily prayers .
You will notice that after a few day’s interval you will have to find new intentions because your prayers will be answered in very short time.
Truly the Lord hasn’t lost a single battle so it is better to involve him in every affairs of our life.
It is a common phenomenon that whenever we are leaving home for a good purpose our dear ones don’t speak anything that seems to be an ill omen.
We stay away from negativities to be happy and stress free but ignoring some negative facts of life we often find ourselves in awkward situations in future.
One such example from the Bible is the sin of great king David ,the author of the lovely Psalms.
11 In the spring, when the kings normally went out to war, David sent out Joab, his servants, and all the Israelites. They destroyed the Ammonites and attacked the city of Rabbah. But David stayed in Jerusalem. 2 One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his palace. While he was on the roof, he saw a woman bathing. She was very beautiful. 3 So David sent his servants to find out who she was. A servant answered, “That woman is Bathsheba daughter of Eliam. She is the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” 4 So David sent messengers to bring Bathsheba to him. When she came to him, he had sexual relations with her. (Now Bathsheba had purified herself from her monthly period.) Then she went back to her house. 5 But Bathsheba became pregnant and sent word to David, saying, “I am pregnant.”
6 So David sent a message to Joab: “Send Uriah the Hittite to me.” And Joab sent Uriah to David. 7 When Uriah came to him, David asked him how Joab was, how the soldiers were, and how the war was going. 8 Then David said to Uriah, “Go home and rest.”
So Uriah left the palace, and the king sent a gift to him. 9 But Uriah did not go home. Instead, he slept outside the door of the palace as all the king’s officers did.
10 The officers told David, “Uriah did not go home.”
Then David said to Uriah, “You came from a long trip. Why didn’t you go home?”
11 Uriah said to him, “The Ark and the soldiers of Israel and Judah are staying in tents. My master Joab and his officers are camping out in the fields. It isn’t right for me to go home to eat and drink and have sexual relations with my wife!”
12 David said to Uriah, “Stay here today. Tomorrow I’ll send you back to the battle.” So Uriah stayed in Jerusalem that day and the next. 13 Then David called Uriah to come to see him, so Uriah ate and drank with David. David made Uriah drunk, but he still did not go home. That evening Uriah again slept with the king’s officers.
14 The next morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by Uriah. 15 In the letter David wrote, “Put Uriah on the front lines where the fighting is worst and leave him there alone. Let him be killed in battle.”
16 Joab watched the city and saw where its strongest defenders were and put Uriah there. 17 When the men of the city came out to fight against Joab, some of David’s men were killed. And Uriah the Hittite was one of them.
Nowlet us read about the consequences👇
Nathan Rebukes David
12 The Lord sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, 3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.
4 “Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.”
5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.”
7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. 9 Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’
11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight.12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.”
The first issue of Bathsheba and David didn’t survive after it’s birth.
In the course of time,Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David.
Amnon raped Tamar and Absalom killed him.
Then Absalom treated the Israelites very kindly so the people were with him hence King David had to flee.
Absalom slept with the concubines of his father King David.
Later on Absalom was also killed.
After his sin with Bathsheba with the advice of Nathan David he repented and wrote Psalm 51
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
We have heard or have read about the fall of the Angels I know that God loves us more than the angels because he wanted to make his palace in the soul of every human being and the angels didn’t like this plan of God so many of them revolted.
We have been promised to live a happy and prosperous life on earth but so many of us are unhappy,so many have become helpless and powerless today .
I am suffering of some problems, does that mean God has deviated from his promise?
No,not at all but I have given a deaf ear to his eternal message of life .
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”-Mikah5:2
We all are a little Bethlehem but our faith is so insignificant that we cannot believe a ruler is willing to live in us and with us if only we keep our soul neat and clean, free from filthiness.
The scripture didn’t really speak only of Bethlehem ,what is the Lord going to do with a lovely city ?The Lord finds pleasures in every little Bethlehem(soul) which allows the ruler to reign over everything from there.
We have eyes but we cannot see,we have ears but we do not hear the Lord’s warning and guidance.
13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;16 but they were kept from recognizing him.-Luke 24:13-16
In the above extract from the Holy book we find two disciples who were walking with the Resurrected Lord, they walked for hours and heard all about Mosses and the Savior and his sufferings and his death that means the story of the Bible from their own master but did not recognize him.
We can understand that how we remain blind despite having our eyes. How powerless we are without his grace !
13 This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’
16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.-Mathew 13:13-16
Joshua had won 31 battles against famous kings of his time but had lost his battle against a small kingdom called Ai.
Let’s find out the reason of his defeat.
It’s a bit lengthy but worth reading .
Israel Defeated at Ai
7 But the people of Israel broke faith in regard to the devoted things, for Achan the son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. And the anger of the Lord burned against the people of Israel.
2 Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven, east of Bethel, and said to them, “Go up and spy out the land.” And the men went up and spied out Ai. 3 And they returned to Joshua and said to him, “Do not have all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and attack Ai. Do not make the whole people toil up there, for they are few.” 4 So about three thousand men went up there from the people. And they fled before the men of Ai, 5 and the men of Ai killed about thirty-six of their men and chased them before the gate as far as Shebarim and struck them at the descent. And the hearts of the people melted and became as water.
6 Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until the evening, he and the elders of Israel. And they put dust on their heads. 7 And Joshua said, “Alas, O Lord God, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to give us into the hands of the Amorites, to destroy us? Would that we had been content to dwell beyond the Jordan! 8 O Lord, what can I say, when Israel has turned their backs before their enemies! 9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and cut off our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?”
The Sin of Achan
10 The Lord said to Joshua, “Get up! Why have you fallen on your face? 11 Israel has sinned; they have transgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings. 12 Therefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will be with you no more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you. 13 Get up! Consecrate the people and say, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow.’
Any genuine product or thought once delivered to the masses is likely to be distorted or it loses it’s originality because people accept it the way it suits them.
In the same way a noble idea to serve the people in this world was once shared by a great messiah,it was indeed a marvelous thought but it has become somewhat disgusting or ridiculous in many parts of the world.
The Messiah is certainly not responsible for the distortion but some so called hypocrite followers have transformed it into a forest where wild animals abounds.
Many of the leaders have not understood what Christianity literally means.
They have made it their personal property, where they have built palaces with the money that was meant for the poor and downtrodden. They have added extra meaning to the holy verses of the Bible which is suitable for them but contrary to the teachings of the Messiah.
In the last two thousands years they have not become rich by collecting funds for the poor even though they are helping only some selected helpless people .
They have a different definitions of poverty so they study to find out who are really needy(You have to understand it) and then they help them. Not all the poor people are eligible for their help.
A Warning Against Hypocrisy
23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant.12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. -Mathew 23:1-12
So don’t follow Christians follow only Jesus Christ the one and only instructor.
God’s love for us is the same today as it was yesterday but we only need to acclimitize/adapt to it by keeping ourselves worthy of his love.
If we need to feel it or realize it then we have to do everything with love .
It’s like an architecture who doesn’t need much of our plans in the initial stage ,simple verbal conversation about a new construction gives him the idea of the building.
It’s like a teacher who looks at a student and after a chat for a while understands about his ambition and his talents.
It is not impossible but very difficult to understand what the Lord wants from me if I don’t remain in touch with him through prayers, sanctity and mortification.
I have passed many exams with flying colors but since last 40 years I have read and have heard a lot about Jesus in different places and at home yet I am still lagging behind so many others in piety.
Many considers piety and saving souls is outdated in the present situation but we have learnt in the last one and half years that qualifications ,Jobs, intellects and riches have failed to save human beings ,what has saved us is the providential grace .
Spiritual posts are certainly very important in our day today life but sharing motivational quotes in between makes all of us enthusiastic of such spiritual posts.
We all are living on this earth therefore we have a moral obligation to perform our duties perfectly so that there is a decorum on this earth.
When we will be the citizens of Paradise we will be asked to praise adore and worship incessantly as there won’t be any requirements of performing worldly duty over there.
Therefore we need to be motivated to be successful and to avoid distractions.
Very often we fight shy of activities which seem to be tough but we ought to remember the fact that the very same activities are performed by human beings like us.
To be successful we only require firm determination and perseverance and above all self confidence. There are limitations but those are made by others,we have to define our own limitations because others don’t have any idea of our capabilities.Others make limitations based on their capabilities.
So many have ignored their own potential simply by looking at the perfect works of other people .We must not look at a perfect painting and judge our abilities because the person who is a legend today had perhaps begun his career with broken chalks and the walls of his/her rooms. So there’s no harm in starting any work with scratches.
As we find so many things on this earth to be happy we also find enough issues of separation in the present world today.
From the ancient time, may be from the primitive age men’s unending search for the real objects, real relationship and real love has not ended yet.
We all suffer a lot whenever someone offers fake love or artificial objects to us.Sometimes we don’t accept it but there are straight forward people who objects or protests such attitudes.
We love to be happy with whatever real objects we can afford otherwise we remain alone, a solitary life is far better than an artificial or fake love affair.
We are the most intelligent creatures on earth hence we understand very well that love for artificial things don’t satiate our thirst. It is transitory, when a fake object is destroyed or spoilt we feel bad so we avoid anything that is fake.
When the person whom we love dearly abandons us we find life miserable.Sometimes we curse such people.
When we cheat someone or bluff someone we prepare ourselves to be cheated in the similar way.
Please read the full texts to understand the consequence of falsehood.(It is a bit lengthy but worth reading)
27 When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could no longer see,he called for Esau his older son and said to him, “My son.”
“Here I am,” he answered.
2 Isaac said, “I am now an old man and don’t know the day of my death.3 Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me. 4 Prepare me the kind of tasty food I like and bring it to me to eat, so that I may give you my blessing before I die.”
5 Now Rebekah was listening as Isaac spoke to his son Esau. When Esau left for the open country to hunt game and bring it back,6 Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “Look, I overheard your father say to your brother Esau, 7 ‘Bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that I may give you my blessing in the presence of the Lord before I die.’8 Now, my son, listen carefully and do what I tell you: 9 Go out to the flock and bring me two choice young goats, so I can prepare some tasty food for your father, just the way he likes it.10 Then take it to your father to eat, so that he may give you his blessing before he dies.”
11 Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, “But my brother Esau is a hairy man while I have smooth skin. 12 What if my father touches me? I would appear to be tricking him and would bring down a curse on myself rather than a blessing.”
13 His mother said to him, “My son, let the curse fall on me. Just do what I say; go and get them for me.”
14 So he went and got them and brought them to his mother, and she prepared some tasty food, just the way his father liked it.15 Then Rebekah took the best clothes of Esau her older son, which she had in the house, and put them on her younger son Jacob. 16 She also covered his hands and the smooth part of his neck with the goatskins.17 Then she handed to her son Jacob the tasty food and the bread she had made.
18 He went to his father and said, “My father.”
“Yes, my son,” he answered. “Who is it?”
19 Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn.I have done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game,so that you may give me your blessing.”
20 Isaac asked his son, “How did you find it so quickly, my son?”
“The Lord your God gave me success,” he replied.
21 Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Come near so I can touch you, my son, to know whether you really are my son Esau or not.”
22 Jacob went close to his father Isaac, who touched him and said, “The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” 23 He did not recognize him, for his hands were hairy like those of his brother Esau;so he proceeded to bless him. 24 “Are you really my son Esau?” he asked.
“I am,” he replied.
25 Then he said, “My son, bring me some of your game to eat, so that I may give you my blessing.”
Jacob brought it to him and he ate; and he brought some wine and he drank. 26 Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come here, my son, and kiss me.”
27 So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes,he blessed him and said,
“Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed. 28 May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness— an abundance of grain and new wine. 29 May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.”
30 After Isaac finished blessing him, and Jacob had scarcely left his father’s presence, his brother Esau came in from hunting. 31 He too prepared some tasty food
Jacob Marries Leah and Rachel
After Jacob had stayed with him for a whole month, 15 Laban said to him, “Just because you are a relative of mine, should you work for me for nothing? Tell me what your wages should be.”
16 Now Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.17 Leah had weak eyes, but Rachel had a lovely figure and was beautiful.18 Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, “I’ll work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel.”
19 Laban said, “It’s better that I give her to you than to some other man. Stay here with me.” 20 So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.
21 Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife. My time is completed, and I want to make love to her.”
22 So Laban brought together all the people of the place and gave a feast. 23 But when evening came, he took his daughter Leah and brought her to Jacob, and Jacob made love to her. 24 And Laban gave his servant Zilpah to his daughter as her attendant.
25 When morning came, there was Leah! So Jacob said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me?I served you for Rachel, didn’t I? Why have you deceived me?”
Jacob bluffed his father and brother Esau for the blessings. His uncle Laban bluffed him by offering her elder daughter Leah in place of Rachel for his rigorous seven years of service to his uncle Laban. (His own mother’s brother) Jacob had to offer his service for another seven years to have beautiful Rachel as his wife.
Sometimes we work for years and remain unsuccessful.
Now we realize the real issue.Don’t we?Whenever we bluff a child of God we forsake the Lord,he never does it.We are responsible for our own debacles.
